SpotterU app for iPhone and iPad

Discover new possibilities for solving your daily problems. SpotterU connects people who are looking for help or offering to help others. In need of a babysitter? Offering to mow a lawn? SpotterU offers various service categories, so the possibilities for help are endless. All you need to do is connect with your email or Facebook account. When you create a search, you can customize it by adding your preferences for age, gender and distance. This makes it easy for you to for example look for a 20 year old, female dog walker within 10 kilometers. When you are presented with the results, you can further filter through the offers based on for example distance, so the people closest to you are featured in the top of the list of results. Now, all you have to do is ‘like’ the offers that appeal to you and hope for a match. A match requires both parties to ‘like’ each other. Once you have a match you can start communicating and hopefully end up helping one another. Remember to rate the users you interact with in order to help other users have great experiences with SpotterU.

How it works:
- Create an account by registering using your email or your Facebook account.
- You can change the registered email at any time.
- Update your profile by adding information about your age, gender, about you etc.
- On the main page you decide whether you want to offer a service (press ‘offering’) or look for a service (press ‘looking’).
- Next, you pick your current location e.g. your home address.
- Then you need to choose a category.
- You can choose between the various predefined categories that will appear on the screen e.g. child care.
- Once you have selected a category, you can use the text box to specify what you are looking for or offering e.g. a nanny every Wednesday from 3pm to 6pm.
- Next, you can specify the search distance as well as age and gender preferences e.g. 15 km., 21-26, female.
- If you have previously looked for or offered a similar service, you can press the history button, which will reveal your search history. You can use old searches to avoid having to create a new one.
- Once you press ‘start search’ in the upper right corner, a list of results will appear on your screen.
- You can have one active offer and one active search at the same time (e.g. offering transportation services while also looking for a nanny).
- If you stumble upon an offer that you do not like e.g. a nanny that is only available on the weekends, you can swipe left to ‘dislike’ the offer.
- The people you ‘dislike’ will not appear in that specific search again.
- When you find an offer that matches you criteria e.g. a nanny that is available in the afternoon on all weekdays, you can swipe right to ‘like’ the offer.
- In order to communicate with another user, you have to ‘match’.
- The only possibility to ‘match’ is if you both ‘like’ each other’s offers.
- After you have matched with another user, you can start communicating and hopefully help each other out.
- If the interaction requires any exchange of money, this will take place outside the app as SpotterU does not accept money or facilitate any digital transaction.
- When you have engaged with another user, you can rate the user based on his or her performance. The rating will guide other users in their search for help.
- In the unlikely event that there are no useful offers, you can share your search on Facebook and spread the word there as well. This may attract more people to SpotterU and provide you with more results in the future.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
